Eco house

project overview

Eco House is a high-fidelity "digital twin" visualization designed for a VR showroom, enabling users to inspect a sustainable home concept as a tangible, dollhouse-scale object.

Working within a strict technical budget for a private client, I was responsible for the complete asset creation pipeline, translating 2D architectural drawings into a single, high-performance 3D object. The goal was to create a "watertight," production-ready asset that users could walk around and inspect up close in VR, requiring extreme attention to geometry and silhouette integrity at a smaller scale.

key contributions

  • 3D Asset Optimization: Modeled a seamless, game-ready structure from architectural plans, optimizing the mesh to a strict 50,000 polygon budget to ensure smooth manipulation and inspection in a showroom environment.

  • Procedural Material Pipeline: Developed custom procedural materials in Blender to achieve realistic surface detailing at close inspection ranges, reducing reliance on heavy texture maps to maintain high visual fidelity.

  • Technical Pipeline: Managed the end-to-end workflow from CAD interpretation to UV mapping and topology cleanup, delivering a single, unified asset that functions flawlessly as an interactive object in real-time engines.
